Harman “Gilt” Chronograph

SOLD

Description

Offered here is an exceptionally rare Harman chronograph, circa 1940s, with a gilt, snail “telemeter” inner-scale on the dial. What makes this watch so rare is the 35mm step-bezel, screwback case.  We have never seen another example made by Harman in this case come to market.  Further, the has matching numbers on the back of the top left lug and inside the caseback, often seen on early Longines 13ZN and Omega 33.3 chronographs.

The watch itself is in great vintage condition.  The case is unpolished, with light wear.  The gilt dial is still glossy with no major flaws or wear.  The original radium lume is still present on the dial, aged to a pale yellow color, and the hands have been professionally color matched to the dial.

The bracelet is a generic steel bracelet.
