Heuer “Transitional” Monaco

SOLD

Description

Up for grabs is a super rare “transitional” Ref. 1133B Heuer Monaco. Only 4500 of the original Monaco Ref. 1133Bs were believed to be produced, and less than 25 are known to exist with transitional dials. The transitional dial features a metallic blue sunburst-like finish, and undecorated hands that have a square-like appearance.

The watch offered today is the nicest transitional 1133B we have seen, and possibly the nicest to come to market. The case is unpolished, showing surface scratches consistent with normal wear. The sunburst blue dial is in near-perfect condition, with no gasket melt. The original lume is fully in-tact in the hands; on the dial, the plots have partially chipped off at 2, 3, 6, 9, 10, and 11 The lume has aged evenly to a nice patina color. The crystal is a replacement, as the original had some large scratches that could not be polished out.

This watch was purchased from the original owner’s son, who told us that he wore this watch often, and cherished it. Don’t miss your chance to own this iconic watch!
