Omega “Full-Set Ed White” Speedmaster

SOLD

Description

Up for grabs is a great example of a straight lugs Omega Speedmaster “Ed White”, so called as this was the same model worn by the famous astronaut, Mr. Ed White.  However, what makes this particular example so special is that it comes complete as an almost never seen “full-set”, with its original Omega inner and outer box, filled out warranty booklet (dating the sale to January 11, 1965, and to the Navy Exchange, potentially making this a watch used by a man/woman in service for the Navy) and Omega Chronographs booklet.

This example dates to 1963, with correct serial range for the reference (105.003-63).  The watch itself is in excellent vintage condition.  The case has been polished, but with original beveled edges still visible. The dial is in excellent, with no marks, chips, or scratches.  The lume on the dial has aged to a golden yellow color, and the hands have been color-matched to the dial.    The original “DON” (Dot Over Ninety) bezel is in clean condition, with very light wear, and aged to a blue hue. Finally, the watch comes fitted on its original Omega flat-link 7912 bracelet, with correct and rare “6” endlinks; the bracelet is fully-linked and in perfect condition, seemingly unworn.
