Rolex “Gilt” GMT-Master

Description

Up for grabs is an exceptional example of a Rolex GMT-Master with a glossy gilt dial, circa 1966 (1.4m serial), one of the finest we have ever offered for sale.  This example is the last gilt dial Rolex produced before transitioning to the matte dial in/around 1967.  This Rolex GMT-Master is in amazing condition.  The case appears unpolished, with original factory bevels visible.  The dial is incredible – super glossy, with a mirror like finish, and almost no wear.  The original tritium lume is present on both dial and hands, aged to a golden yellow color.  The original and period-correct “Pepsi” bezel insert is in fantastic condition, and has aged to a lighter shade of red on the bottom half. Further, the watch comes equipped on a Rolex rivet 7206/58 bracelet, dated to the 4th quarter of 1966, and is in practically unworn condition, with 12 full links and no stretch.

This is an incredible collector and connoisseur’s watch, and you will be hard pressed to find one in better condition for sale!
